Benin’s Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA) has published the provisional list of candidate duos for the 2026 presidential elections.
Out of the five duos that submitted their candidacies, only two were deemed compliant with electoral requirements, while three were declared inadmissible and given 48 hours to regularize their applications.
According to CENA’s announcement, the validated duos are Romuald Wadagni and Mariam Chabi Talata of the ruling party, and Paul Hounkpè and Rock Judicaël Hounwanou of the opposition FCBE.
This development marks a significant step in Benin’s electoral process, as political parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2026 polls.
