Benin’s Ministry of the Interior has announced that, starting October 1, vehicles with opaque or tinted front windows will no longer be allowed on the country’s roads.

Authorities say the measure is part of broader security efforts aimed at strengthening public safety. The decision comes in response to the tense security climate facing the country and the wider region.

Drivers are being urged to comply with the new regulation to avoid sanctions once the measure takes effect.
