Benin’s government has approved the Ministry of National Defense’s Strategic Plan for 2025 to 2029. The decision was taken at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, September 3, under the chairmanship of President Patrice Talon.
The plan seeks to modernize the Beninese Armed Forces and enhance their role in both national and international security.
By 2029, the vision is for the Beninese Armed Forces (FAB) to become a modern, republican army, capable of contributing to sustainable national development as well as international peace and security.
The strategy also reflects the region’s current geostrategic realities, addressing cross-border threats and sub-regional stability challenges.
