The African Union Commission is urging reforms to the global financial system to help Africa unlock its full development potential.
Speaking at a high-level session during the Fourth Forum on Financing for Development (FFD4) in Seville, Spain, AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf highlighted the need for systemic changes and increased financial flows to the continent.
He emphasized that Africa’s development ambitions are being hindered by outdated global structures and inadequate financial support.
Youssouf called on the international community to take concrete steps toward creating a more inclusive and equitable financial architecture that reflects Africa’s growing role in the global economy.
