In this edition of Arts and Culture, we take you on a journey of a fascinating aspect of Ghana’s Ga culture.
“Homowo”, which means “hooting at hunger,” is the Ga people’s most significant festival, celebrated annually in August with much joy and fanfare.
It commemorates the end of a great famine and the bountiful harvest that followed. But within this larger festival lies a special celebration “Akweley Suma” dedicated to twins.
