Leaders from the European Union and African Union have converged in Luanda for a two-day summit focused on deepening cooperation and driving peace and prosperity across both regions. The 7th EU–AU Summit, taking place on November 24 and 25, marks a milestone in the 25-year partnership that began with the landmark Cairo meeting in 2000.

Held under the theme Promoting Peace and Prosperity through Effective Multilateralism, the summit comes at a pivotal moment as global attention increasingly turns toward Africa following the close of COP30 in Belém. Leaders are expected to explore ways to strengthen joint action in conflict prevention, economic development, and climate resilience.

The gathering underscores the EU and AU’s shared interest in a more stable and prosperous continent, highlighting cooperation in security, trade, governance, and sustainable growth.

With high-level delegations in attendance, Luanda has become the center of renewed diplomatic energy aimed at shaping a stronger and more collaborative future for both regions.
