In Côte d’Ivoire, provisional results show President Alassane Ouattara securing over 89% of the vote in the recent presidential election.
Despite the sweeping win, voter turnout dropped slightly from 53.9% in 2020 to 50.10% this year, raising questions about voter engagement and political inclusivity.
Independent political analyst Wendyam Hervé Lankoandé says the results highlight both Ouattara’s enduring dominance and the opposition’s continuing struggle to present a unified front.
