Seventy-eight Nigerian women trafficked to Côte d’Ivoire under false promises of work have been safely brought back to Nigeria in a rescue mission led by Air Peace and the Federal Government.
The women arrived at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport over the weekend, where they received immediate medical and psychosocial support to aid their reintegration.
Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema, who personally welcomed them, reiterated the airline’s dedication to humanitarian efforts.
The rescue adds to Air Peace’s record of emergency missions, including evacuations from South Africa, Ukraine, Sudan, and during the COVID-19 crisis.
