A Pan-African movement of people and organizations says it has collected more than 10,000 signatures from Africans calling for a borderless continent.
Africans Rising, through its petition titled Borderless Africa, is urging governments to allow free movement and ratify the African Union’s Free Movement Protocol of 2018.
In a statement on Monday, the movement said the signatures mark a major milestone and send a clear signal to African governments and the African Union that Africans are ready for a borderless Africa.
The signatories include youth, traders, creatives, women, diaspora Africans, and grassroots organizers from across the continent and beyond.
