At least twenty African heads of state and government have gathered in Rome for the Italy-Africa summit known as “The Mattei Plan,” as Italy aims to enhance its ties with the African continent.
The summit, initiated on Monday, Rome said is a significant diplomatic effort.
Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, unveiling “The Mattei Plan,” expressed the government’s aspiration to forge a new chapter in Rome’s relations with the continent.
