African trade ministers will meet on April 14 in Kinshasa, DRC to address the impact of a new 10% tariff imposed by the United States on imports from African countries.
The forum is being convened by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which represents the world’s largest free trade bloc. At least 51 out of 55 African nations are affected by the U.S. policy.
The African Union has also urged U.S. President Donald Trump to reconsider the tariffs, warning they could strain trade ties.
WADR’s Francis Boniface has more on the upcoming meeting.
