ActionAid, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to combating poverty and injustice worldwide, says it remains committed to addressing societal issues.
This relates to the protection of women’s and children’s rights, the climate change campaign, and leadership advocacy, among others.
To ensure its mandate is felt in the 45 focus countries, including nineteen in Africa, ActionAid launched a global strategy plan 2018-2028.
Known as the Action for Global Justice (2018-2028),” it aims to eradicate poverty and injustice by shifting power to people living in poverty, with a strong focus on feminist leadership, human rights, and climate justice.
The strategy prioritises women and young people, utilising solidarity and campaign-driven approaches to challenge systemic inequality.
Take a listen to WADR’s conversation with Tinebeb Berhane, Head of Africa Region at ActionAid, explaining this strategic plan and more.
