In Guinea, the transitional government has dissolved more than forty political parties, including major opposition groups such as the UFDG and UFR.
Authorities say the move responds to parties’ alleged failure to meet legal obligations, though critics describe it as an attempt to consolidate power.
The affected parties have condemned the decision and are urging their supporters to resist what they call a push toward a one-party state.
