In Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has directed boards of State-Owned Enterprises and public institutions to halt all international travel for retreats and study tours.

The directive takes immediate effect and is aimed at protecting public finances.

Authorities say the decision follows concerns over the rising cost of foreign trips undertaken by board members of state institutions.

Naa Dedei Tettey reports.
