In Liberia, authorities marked International Women’s Day with high-level events at the Samuel Doe Sports Complex, recognising the role women have played in the country’s peace-building history.

Officials acknowledged that despite women’s contributions to the nation’s development and economy, significant disparities still remain.

They also called for stronger policies and broader representation of women in government and national decision-making.
