Parliamentary elections to renew the House of Representatives will be held in Morocco on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, according to a spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, who announced this after a cabinet meeting.

The decision is part of the adoption of a draft decree presented by the Ministry of the Interior, which outlines the organisation of the vote and the various stages of the electoral process.

According to details provided by the spokesperson during the government’s weekly press conference, the regulatory text sets both the date of the vote and the administrative procedures related to the submission of candidacies.

The election campaign will officially begin at the first hour of Thursday, September 10, 2026 and will end at midnight on Tuesday, September 22, the day before the election.

The authorities have also released the first data concerning the electorate. Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit indicated that the total number of provisional voters registered on the electoral lists has reached approximately 16.5 million.

According to figures presented to the House of Councillors during a question period, men represent 54% of the electorate compared to 46% for women.
