In Cape Verde, an ECOWAS pre-electoral fact-finding mission has begun high-level consultations with authorities and political stakeholders ahead of upcoming legislative and presidential elections.

The delegation is led by Ambassador Abdel-Fatau Musah, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the Economic Community of West African States.

The mission is mandated to assess the pre-electoral environment and support efforts toward peaceful, transparent and credible polls.
