In Togo, a military tribunal on Friday delivered its verdict in the murder case of Colonel Bitala Madjoulba, former commander of the 1st Rapid Intervention Battalion.
The key suspect, an army colonel dismissed from the Armed Forces, had his initial prison sentence extended by the appeal court.
The case has shaken the Togolese Armed Forces and fueled public debate since news of Colonel Madjoulba’s death first emerged.
