Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has urged the leadership of the 10th Senate to amend the 1999 Constitution to create a legal framework for the establishment of State Police.
The President says the move is necessary to address the country’s evolving security challenges and strengthen policing at the grassroots level.
Tinubu argues that empowering states with their own police structures will enable quicker and more effective responses to internal security threats.
