Liberia is stepping up efforts to strengthen its economy and protect consumers with the official launch of the Liberia Standards Authority, known as LiSA.
The initiative signals the country’s commitment to building a robust quality infrastructure aligned with international standards. Authorities say the move will help create a level playing field for businesses while boosting confidence in Liberian products both locally and internationally.
By improving standards and compliance systems, the government aims to enhance consumer protection, facilitate trade, and attract greater investment into key sectors of the economy.
The launch ceremony brought together representatives from the European Union, the United Nations, business leaders, and investors from both the public and private sectors, underscoring broad support for the new institution.
