In Guinea, former President of the Constitutional Court, Mohamed Lamine Bangoura, is standing trial over alleged embezzlement of public funds amounting to nearly 20 billion Guinean francs.
Bangoura appeared on Wednesday before the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses to respond to the charges brought against him. The case marks a significant moment in the country’s ongoing judicial proceedings involving senior public officials.
However, the former high-ranking magistrate has firmly denied the accusations, rejecting claims that he misappropriated state resources. The trial is expected to draw considerable public attention as proceedings continue.
