Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has confirmed an earlier report of a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu, reversing a previous denial and raising fresh concerns about transparency within the country’s security agencies.
The confirmation follows weeks of internal scrutiny after intelligence reports pointed to activities that could pose a threat to national stability.
According to official sources, a document detailing the alleged plot was submitted to the President, although no information was provided on the date or the officials present at the handover.
The development has sparked public debate over accountability, communication, and trust in Nigeria’s security institutions.
