Ghana has deployed 121 health professionals to Antigua and Barbuda under President John Mahama’s Labour Export Programme, aimed at creating opportunities for trained but unemployed health workers.

The initiative is designed to reduce unemployment in the health sector while providing skilled professionals to countries facing workforce shortages.

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh said the programme will be expanded to other Caribbean nations, strengthening international cooperation and job creation.

The move highlights Ghana’s growing use of labour mobility as a strategy for employment, skills development, and economic empowerment.
