Youth leaders from across The Gambia are participating in a three-day civic engagement training programme ahead of the December 5, 2026 general elections.
The initiative is led by ActionAid International in collaboration with the Gambian Government and Hakalang Senela Kafo, a local community organization. It brings together young participants from various regions to strengthen their understanding of democratic processes and responsible civic participation.
Organisers say the programme seeks to enhance inclusive civic space and empower marginalized young people to actively engage in national development efforts. With elections approaching, the training is expected to equip youth leaders with the tools to promote peaceful participation and informed decision-making across communities.
