In Mali, former Prime Minister Choguel Maïga has renewed calls for reconciliation between Mali and Algeria amid strained diplomatic relations.
Speaking from his prison cell in Koulikoro, Choguel Maïga addressed Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, appealing for renewed dialogue between the two neighbouring countries.
His latest statement comes at a time when relations between Mali and Algeria have sharply deteriorated, heightening tensions in the region.
