The United States government has announced a suspension of immigrant visa processing for nationals from 75 countries across multiple regions worldwide.

According to the U.S. State Department, the suspension takes effect on January 21, 2026, and applies strictly to immigrant visas.

Several West African countries are affected by the decision, including Ghana, Nigeria, Guinea, and Liberia.
