In Senegal, the Ministry of Justice has provided new details on the case of Mouhamadou Ngom, also known as Farba, a Member of Parliament and mayor of Agnames.

Ngom, a close associate of former President Macky Sall, has been in pre-trial detention since February 2025 over allegations of embezzling 125 billion CFA francs in public funds.

Although the Supreme Court ordered his provisional release under judicial supervision, the financial prosecution unit has filed an appeal against the decision.
