An ECOWAS delegation has held talks with Guinea-Bissau’s transitional authorities during a visit over the weekend.
The mission included ECOWAS Chair and Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and ECOWAS Commission President Umar Alieu Touray, who described the discussions as constructive.
The regional bloc reiterated its call for a short transition period and the formation of an inclusive government.
Meanwhile, the Bissau-Guinean Human Rights League says it supports ECOWAS’ position but regrets not being included in the dialogue process.
