Authorities in Benin have announced nationwide security measures ahead of Sunday’s legislative and municipal elections.

Political campaigns for the January 11 polls ended on Friday, clearing the way for voting across the country.

The Ministry of the Interior and Public Security says the measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth electoral process and maintaining public order during the elections.
