President John Mahama has announced plans to establish the 24-Hour Authority as part of efforts to fully roll out Ghana’s 24-hour economy policy.

The Authority will oversee the registration of participating businesses and define incentives to support those signing on to the initiative.

President Mahama made the announcement on January 8 during a visit to the Ghana Publishing Company, praising management for adopting innovative measures, including a two-shift system, ahead of the policy’s implementation.

He said the committee reviewing the 24-hour economy framework has completed its work and will soon submit its report to Parliament, noting that early adopters stand to benefit significantly from the policy.
