The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI-RDA) has announced the death of Guillaume Houphouët-Boigny, son of the country’s founding president Félix Houphouët-Boigny.

In a message to party members, PDCI-RDA leader Tidjane Thiam expressed condolences to the Houphouët-Boigny family.

He described the late Guillaume as a man of kindness, discretion and humility.

The party leader also called on supporters and Ivorians to join the family in prayer and solidarity during the period of mourning.
