The fight against corruption remains one of the most critical issues in governance across Africa. In Liberia, that conversation has taken a new turn after the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission announced that 28 current and former government officials have been cleared of corruption allegations following investigations into multiple cases involving public institutions and private entities.
According to the Commission, the decision was based on a lack of sufficient evidence to prosecute the individuals involved. Among those cleared are officials connected to several state institutions, as well as former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel F. McGill.
