Liberia has launched an AI-supported digital payment platform known as the Instant Inclusive Payment System (IIPS), marking a major step toward financial inclusion and digital transformation.
The system is designed to provide access to secure digital financial services for all Liberians, regardless of location or socioeconomic status, addressing long-standing gaps in the country’s financial ecosystem.
IIPS enables seamless integration across Liberia’s nine commercial banks, Real-Time Gross Settlement systems, Automated Clearing House electronic transfers, and the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System.
Authorities say the initiative will boost efficiency, expand access to financial services, and strengthen Liberia’s participation in regional and continental digital payment networks.
