In Ghana, a labour analyst has welcomed the country’s new labour export agreements with Caribbean nations, describing them as a timely intervention.
Austin Gamey says the initiative offers a practical solution to youth unemployment while helping to deploy surplus skilled workers.
Under the agreements, 121 health professionals have been sent to Antigua and Barbuda, while a newly signed deal will enable the exchange of teachers and nurses with Jamaica.
Officials say the programmes are mutually beneficial, addressing skills shortages in host countries while creating employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
