Ghana and Jamaica have signed a new labour exchange agreement that will allow Ghanaian teachers and nurses to take up employment opportunities in the Caribbean nation.
The initiative is designed to create new jobs for Ghanaian professionals while strengthening diplomatic, economic, and security relations between the two countries.
The programme also reflects Ghana’s broader strategy to expand overseas employment pathways for trained workers.
It follows closely on the heels of a similar arrangement that recently saw Ghanaian health workers deployed to Antigua and Barbuda under an overseas placement initiative.
