US President Donald Trump has accused Ukraine’s leadership of showing “zero gratitude” for Washington’s efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

His criticism, posted on his Truth Social platform, came as Ukrainian and European negotiators met US officials in Geneva to discuss a leaked peace proposal widely viewed as favourable to Moscow.

Speaking during a pause in the talks, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the discussions as “the most productive and meaningful meeting so far.” At the same time, Ukraine’s representative said the parties were “moving toward a just peace.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the US proposal could serve as “the basis” for a peace settlement.
