Gambian President Adama Barrow has renewed his pledge to guarantee safe and clean drinking water for communities nationwide. His assurance comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve water access in both rural and urban areas.

During a visit to the Upper West Region, President Barrow toured several newly completed boreholes constructed in partnership with the World Bank. He praised the initiative as a vital step toward reducing water shortages and improving public health.

Officials say the borehole projects form part of a broader national strategy to expand sustainable water infrastructure. The government plans to scale up similar interventions in underserved regions.

Communities benefiting from the new facilities expressed relief, noting that improved access to potable water will greatly ease daily hardship and enhance local livelihoods.
