Senegal is hosting a two-week cybersecurity bootcamp at the Army Training Center in Thiès, about 72 kilometers from Dakar. The program brings together young participants from across West and Central Africa for intensive training.

Organized by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with Give1Project and the Open Society Foundations, the initiative aims to strengthen digital resilience across the region. Participants will explore emerging cyber threats and learn practical tools to protect digital spaces.

The bootcamp focuses on empowering youth to serve as change-makers and peace ambassadors online. Organizers say the training also promotes social cohesion and enhances community-driven peace and development efforts.

With 100 young people taking part, the event represents one of the region’s most ambitious efforts to build the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
