In Guinea, the children and brother of reggae artist Elie Kamano remain missing after they were reportedly abducted over the weekend. The incident occurred at Kamano’s residence in the Matoto district, in the upper suburbs of Conakry.

Kamano, who is currently living in exile, claims the abduction was ordered by the ruling military authorities to silence his criticism. His allegations have sparked alarm among supporters and civil society actors.

Human rights advocates are urging authorities to launch an independent and credible investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. They warn that the case raises serious concerns about freedom of expression and the safety of dissidents.

The family continues to appeal for information on the whereabouts of the missing individuals as pressure mounts on the government to respond transparently.
