Benin’s National Autonomous Electoral Commission (CENA) has officially confirmed the final registration of the two candidate duos vying in the 2026 presidential election. The announcement marks a key milestone in the country’s electoral calendar.
During a brief ceremony held at CENA headquarters on Monday, officials presented the electoral receipts to representatives of the competing candidates. The event underscored the commission’s commitment to transparency and due process.
CENA President Sacca Lafia presided over the ceremony, which brought together members of the Electoral Council and several technical officers. He reaffirmed the commission’s readiness to conduct a smooth, credible, and inclusive election.
With the candidate duos now formally validated, Benin moves a step closer to a highly anticipated electoral season, as political actors prepare for intensified campaigns ahead of 2026.
