STAR-Ghana Foundation’s Youth Summit in Koforidua has sparked a renewed civic movement as over 500 young activists, innovators, and leaders demanded inclusion in governance, chanting “Nothing for us, without us.” The two-day summit, held under the theme “Harnessing the Power of Youth for Transformative Development,” called for youth leadership to move from the margins to the decision table.

Delegates emphasized that issues affecting education, employment, and the environment must reflect the realities of young people. They urged proactive use of the Right to Information Act and increased local budget allocations to promote transparency and participatory governance.

Representatives from the Office of the Special Prosecutor led sessions on accountability, inspiring calls for youth inclusion in anti-corruption efforts. “We can’t fight corruption from the sidelines,” said Aisha Ummar of Koforidua Technical University.

Organized by STAR Ghana Foundation and partners, the summit concluded with a bold youth agenda—strengthening local youth parliaments, promoting civic education, and ensuring that leadership at all levels listens to the voices of the next generation.
