In Benin, the opposition Democrats party has pledged to contest the Autonomous Electoral Commission’s (CENA) decision to reject its candidacy for the upcoming municipal elections.
During a press conference on Tuesday, party officials described the move as a deliberate attempt to exclude them from the electoral process.
The Democrats, led by former President Boni Yayi, emphasized their intention to pursue all legal avenues to overturn the commission’s decision and ensure their participation in the elections.
