Classes have resumed across Mali after a two-week suspension triggered by a nationwide fuel shortage. The halt in academic activities had left many teachers and students unable to commute as public transport systems were heavily affected.
According to authorities, the crisis stems from a blockade imposed by the JNIM armed group on key fuel import routes, severely constraining supplies into the country. Schools have now reopened despite the ongoing challenges, as the government works to stabilize fuel distribution and restore normalcy.
