Guinea has entered a new industrial era with the official launch of mining operations at the world-class Simandou iron ore deposit. The project, considered one of the largest mining ventures globally, marks a turning point for the country’s economic ambitions.
A grand ceremony is taking place today, attended by several African Heads of State, leaders of international institutions, and top Guinean officials. Authorities describe the event as a milestone that will reshape Guinea’s position in the global mineral market.
To underscore the significance of the occasion, the government has declared Tuesday a nationwide public holiday, allowing citizens across the country to participate in the historic moment.
