Nigerian President Bola Tinubu on Friday received Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, granting him full presidential honors on arrival.

President Bio, who also chairs ECOWAS, shared on his X platform that he is in Nigeria to deliver the keynote address at Baze University’s 12th Convocation ceremony. He added that he will also engage with leading African business executives during his visit.

Despite ongoing regional conversations, President Bio made no mention of plans to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Earlier in the week, ECOWAS publicly reaffirmed its strong support for Abuja, rejecting the accusations and emphasizing that terrorist violence affects all communities.
