In Côte d’Ivoire, the opposition PPA-CI party of former president Laurent Gbagbo has announced that it will not take part in the December 27, 2025 parliamentary elections.
The withdrawal was confirmed in a statement issued on November 6, following a Central Committee meeting chaired by Gbagbo himself.
According to the party, the conditions for holding credible and transparent elections are not guaranteed, citing what it calls a toxic political environment.
The PPA-CI also reiterated its rejection of last October’s presidential election results, which saw Alassane Ouattara declared winner for a fourth term.
