A coalition of justice advocates is urging the Liberian government to act swiftly as delays continue to hinder the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court and the National Anti-Corruption Court.
Despite President Joseph Boakai’s Executive Orders 131 and 148 authorizing these institutions, concerns are mounting over the lack of funding and political will needed to operationalize them. Many citizens now question the government’s commitment to genuine accountability.
On Tuesday, civil society groups and justice campaigners gathered in Monrovia, calling for a move from rhetoric to concrete action after years of discussions. They warn that continued delays risk undermining public trust and jeopardizing long-awaited justice efforts.
