The Circuit Court in Accra has granted bail to the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, setting the amount at GH¢150,000 (about US$13,700).

The case relates to his alleged involvement in the assault of military officers attached to the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat in the Ahafo Region.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament has strongly condemned the incident, stressing that the House will not protect any MP implicated in acts of violence or misconduct.
