In Côte d’Ivoire, the Common Front opposition alliance—comprising the PPA-CI and PDCI-RDA parties—has accused the government of engaging in what it calls “authoritarian practices.”

During a press conference on Wednesday, the coalition announced a major protest slated for Saturday, November 8, 2025, to push for greater political freedoms and transparency.

The parties are also calling for the immediate release of all political prisoners detained under the current administration.

This move follows reports that several opposition figures have recently been summoned by the Abidjan police prefecture.
