Health authorities in Senegal are on high alert as the Rift Valley fever virus continues to spread, now affecting six of the country’s 14 regions. Among the hardest hit are Dakar and Saint-Louis, with the latter identified as the epicenter of the outbreak.
The mosquito-borne disease, which primarily affects livestock but can also infect humans, has sparked growing concern among citizens and public health officials.
In response, Senegal’s Ministry of Health is coordinating with veterinary and environmental services to implement a comprehensive plan aimed at containing the epidemic and preventing further transmission.
